Women’s Renew Conference 2018 Recap

Last month, over 500 women from around (and beyond) the state of Iowa descended upon IRBC for a weekend of RENEWal! From sessions to snacks, crafts to coffee, and so much more: there was encouragement to be found all weekend in a variety of ways at the IARBC Women’s Renew Conference 2018. Pastor Bunge retires from Emannuel Baptist

After 47 total years of service, Pastor Dan Bunge retired from pastoral ministry on August 26th. Before coming to Emmanuel Baptist in Des Moines several years ago, Dan and his wife, Charlotte, had previously served churches in Michigan, Illinois, Pennsylvania, Ohio, New York. To celebrate and honor their years of ministry, the church hosted a special meal following their morning service with a devotional by State Representative Tim Capon. Pastor Michael Ryan Ordained

On July 21st, Pocahontas Regular Baptist Church held an ordination council for Associate Pastor Michael Ryan. Rev. Jeriah Shank was the moderator and Rev. Doug Farrell was the secretary. About 11 people were there and the council  recommended ordination.  On July 22nd, the church approved the recommendation and formally ordained Pastor Ryan, with Mike Crawford and Dr. Dean Taylor being the speakers at the service. Congratulations to Pastor Ryan and Pocahontas Regular Baptist Church!

Center Street Baptist Welcomes Pastor Don Michaelsen

Center Street Baptist Church is pleased to welcome Pastor Don Michaelsen as their Senior Pastor. Pastor Michaelsen has served as Interim Pastor at CSBC since late summerof 2017. On June 10 th of this year, following a favorable unanimous vote by the congregation, he accepted the call to begin his ministry as Senior Pastor. IARBC Church Families Impacted by Tornadoes

The communities of Bondurant, Marshalltown, and Pella were among those rocked by tornadoes that ripped through the area Thursday afternoon. We have received reports from two church families that we know were in the vicinity of the storm and are thankful that no fatalities have been reported, the church buildings represented sustained no damage, and that the church members are banding together to serve one another and their community in the aftermath. 2018 GARBC Conference Recap
