Prayer for Darrel Mohler

UPDATE 5/24 (Update from IARBC State Representative Tim Capon): Talking with Darrel, he told me that he has been home for a while after a life-threatening bout with COVID. He still has pneumonia in one lung, and a little remaining COVID infection in the other. He is doing much better, is stable, but the recovery is very slow. He asks that we pray for strength and wisdom for both him and his wife Jane through this time of recovery. Jane had tested positive for COVID right before Darrel, and was hospitalized for a few days.

UPDATE 4/18: He did not have to be put on a vent.  He does have pneumonia in both lungs.  Here is an update from his daughter:

We wanted to send out a HUGE thank you for the out pour of love and prayers you’ve been sending out for Pastor and Jane Mulholland Mohler. The amount of phone calls, messages, prayers, and support we’ve received has warmed our hearts more then we can possibly express!

We are very pleased with the care Pastor is receiving and have been getting updates from his nurses. We believe they are doing all the right tests to look at the whole picture of what is going on, over just one area. He has big team behind him in the medical field and in prayer. Unfortunately, there is not a whole lot to report on his health and where it stands.  They have been keeping a close eye on his heart as that is a big concern right now as well. We are please he is getting the correct care and pleased for the comfort the nurses can provide for his pain.

Prayer requests-
– that the pain in his lungs would ease
– that the pneumonia will clear quickly
– that the care team will have wisdom on the best treatment plan moving forward.
-that Pastor’s body will recover quicklyGlenna Fay has set up a caringbridge for anyone interested in receiving updates, and we ask that you withhold from calling pastor’s phone at this time as he is on high oxygen needs and should not talk and drain his strength. If you would like a one on one conversation please call (507) 884-6319 instead of Pastor’s phone. We are also working on getting an address for anyone who would like to mail pastor notes of encouragement or help with medical costs. -I will give out the update once everything is in place.Again, thank you from the bottom of our hearts for all the endless love,  encouragement, and prayers!Sincerely, the Mohler Clan

Original Post (4/16): We received this email earlier today and wanted to pass along this urgent prayer request. Please pray for the Mohlers and all involved. Pastor Darrel Mohler and his wife, Jane, are ministering in Manning at Calvary Baptist Church. We will add updates to this post as they become available.

“The family of pastor Darrel Mohler is asking for prayer.  Pastor Mohler is being transferred to a bigger hospital in Omaha to be placed on a vent for Covid.  His wife, Jane is also sick, but recovering.  Please pray for the Mohler family as they walk this hard road.  Pray for wisdom for the doctors and nurses.”
