De Soto Calvary Baptist Welcomes New Pastor

A note from Calvary Baptist Church, De Soto:
We’re thrilled that Pastor Ron has accepted the call to our church and know God has great things in store for De Soto Calvary Baptist under his leadership. Ron Phillips trusted Jesus Christ as his own personal Savior as a student at Indiana University in March of1964. In 1966, he married Amy who had been instrumental in sharing Christ with him and leading him to the Lord. Amy and Ron were blessed with two children, Joanna and Derek. Pastor Ron has 8 grandchildren all of whom love the Lord and are serving Him. In 1985, Pastor Ron and Amy answered God’s call to full-time ministry. He began as a missionary pastor in Texas. Later, he became the Fields Director/Vice-President of Baptist Missions of North America. He was the Executive Director of three Christian schools, and he pastored four different Baptist Churches. His seminary training included courses at Pensacola Christian College and Faith Baptist Bible College & Seminary. He also completed five tracts of nouthetic counseling training at Faith Baptist Church in Lafayette, Indiana. He was a member of the Trustees for FBBC&TS for 16 years. On a personal note, his hobbies include reading and listening to music. He is a strongly dedicated family man who really enjoys spending time with his children and grandchildren who comprise his legacy. The thing that excites him most is helping people who are in need. His life’s verse is Hebrews 13:8, “Jesus Christ, the same yesterday, today and forever.”
Congratulations to Pastor Ron Phillips and to De Soto Calvary Baptist Church!
