Help Needed for the GARBC Conference!

The GARBC Annual Conference is just around the corner (June 25-28) and we have the privilege of having the conference in Iowa this year! I hope you are making plans to attend!

A conference of this scale requires many volunteers to make it run smoothly. One of the areas of need is help with the children’s program. The GARBC team is doing a fantastic job of planning and preparing the program and there are local committees who are assisting them with implementation. However, they cannot supervise all the children alone. That’s where you can help.
If you are able to help with this need, you can find instructions below for how to sign up.

1. Fill out the GARBC Volunteer Application*
Due to how the GARBC new insurance is set up they are required to do screening on all workers with kids (nursery-teen), even those previously screened by their church. The form can be accessed HERE. These will need to be submitted directly to Mark Johnson, their Treasurer/Controller. He will be handling all the screenings and will be the only one with access to this information. These can be sent to his attention either by email,, fax 847.585.0857 or mail 3715 North Ventura Drive, Arlington Heights, IL 60004. Forms need to be submitted by June 18, 2019.
*Please note that one of the requirements for the completion of the application form is confirming that you have been approved by your church to work with children/youth

2. Sign up** for a time slot (or several!)
You can sign up online to serve during various time slots during the duration of the conference. You do not need to be available for the entire conference. Even volunteering at one session helps a lot!
– Go to the GARBC Conference Event page HERE
– Click on “Volunteer Sign-Up” from the menu of options on the left side of the page
– Click on the time slot(s) you desire to serve and follow the on-screen prompts to complete the process
  **Access to the volunteer link works best from a desktop, otherwise you will need to select the desktop view from your smartphone. You will also need to use a separate device for each person signing up to volunteer.
