Horton Baptist Church of Waverly called James Livingston as their
Associate Pastor on Sunday, October 8th, 2017. James accepted the call
and he and his wife, Desirae, and their four children, Caleb, Natalie,
Madeline and Benjamin moved to the Horton area in the middle of
November. Pastor James began his ministry on Sunday December 3rd.

James grew up attending Calvary Baptist Church of Dysart before going
to the University of Northern Iowa for Criminology. He worked as a
police officer in Vinton for 10 years and faithfully attended and
served at the First Baptist Church of Vinton. James then worked for
Diamond V Mills in Cedar Rapids for two years and during that time
James and Desirae began to sense God’s call on their life for
ministry.

Through circumstances that could only be orchestrated by God, James
and Desirae are now serving full time at Horton Baptist Church while
James pursues his pastoral education and training.
