David Alan Burman
David Alan Burman passed away peacefully with his loving family by his side on Tuesday, February 4, 2025. He grew up in the Midwest living in Iowa and Wisconsin. On June 12, 1971, David married his college sweetheart, Beverly Jones. They spent 53 blessed years together raising their family as they served in various churches and communities.
David's true calling in life was to serve God. He pastored in Moweaqua, IL, Rockwell City and Cumberland, IA, Nebraska City, NE, Alton, IL, and New Castle, DE. David was a servant of the Lord. He enjoyed serving in leadership positions in camps and organizations he loved, including the GARBC, Baptist Mid-Missions, and various state Fellowships. To know David was to know the Lord. His ministry provided comfort, care, and spiritual nourishment to countless people throughout his life. He set an excellent example by the love he shared for his wife, children, and grandchildren. David enjoyed reading and studying God's Word, preaching, cheering on his Chicago Cubs and Nebraska Cornhuskers and sharing time with family and friends. His presence will be greatly missed.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Celebration of Life service for David at Krienen-Griffith Funeral Home, 1400 Kirkwood Hwy., Wilm., DE 19805, on Monday, Feb 10 at 3:00 pm with a visitation to be held before the service from 1:30-3:00 pm. In addition, a Celebration of Life Service will also take place at First Baptist Church of Waverly, 211 3rd St SW, Waverly, IA 50677, on February 24 at 11am; preceded by a private family graveside gathering taking place at Harlington Cemetery.
