Yesterday, November 12, Gina Ackerson went to be with the Lord. Gina served the Lord alongside her husband Jim in two of our IARBC churches, First Baptist Church (Guthrie Center) and Horton Baptist Church until Jim’s retirement several years ago. And then as members of Calvary Baptist Church in Greene.

Obituary:
Regina Jo Ackerson, 71 of Allison, Iowa, passed away November 12, 2024, at her home in Allison.

Gina was born on December 3, 1952, in Cedar Falls, Iowa, the daughter of Joe and Carol (Sells) Gersema. She graduated from New Hartford Community Schools in 1971 and attended Faith Baptist College in Ankeny.

Gina was united in marriage to James Ackerson on April 28, 1972, at the Little Brown Church in Nashua.

She was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Greene. Gina enjoyed serving God through various children ministries such as Sunday School, Vacation Bible School, and Bible Clubs.

She is survived by her husband, Jim of Allison, two sisters, Linda (Terry) Arends of Shell Rock and Carloyn (Dave) LeBahn of New Hartford; and two brothers, Joel (Teresa) Gersema and James Gersema both of New Hartford. Gina was preceded in death by her parents.

A Funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, November 14, 2024 at the Calvary Baptist Church in Greene with Pastor Ben Hartwig officiating. There will be a visitation on Thursday at the church from 9:00 a.m. until the service time. Burial will follow in Butler Center Cemetery, rural Allison.
