Ministry Profile for the IARBC State Representative
Quality of life:
He should be a man of godliness as revealed in Scripture (1 Tim.3; Titus1). He must agree with the IARBC Articles of Faith and possess a biblical worldview. It would be helpful for him to have significant pastoral experience, having the ability to relate to pastors and churches in various contexts (urban/rural, large/small, etc.). He should have the ability to counsel others in a biblical manner. He should have intimate knowledge of the history, theology, and ministry practice of the IARBC. He should be affirmed to this ministry position by his local church family and ministry colleagues.
Ministry Priorities:
The ministry priorities will revolve around three main areas including caring, coaching, and collaboration.
Caring: he must work to connect with pastors of IARBC churches and micro-networks of churches through local fellowships. Through counsel and encouragement, he will often be one who will help pastors work through individual and corporate challenges in their local church.
Coaching: because he has worked to establish relationships across the broad spectrum of our fellowship, he will have credibility to encourage pastors and churches to work intentionally at making disciples within their local context. He will ask hard questions about spiritual health and encourage steps to work toward revitalization when appropriate.
Collaboration: because our fellowship of churches should be known for their vision of building healthy churches, he will work to initiate, establish, and facilitate pastors and churches of regionally located micro-networks to revitalize and plant churches throughout the state of Iowa.
